The website was created to simulate a professional fashion shop for portfolio demonstration purposes, with the goal of showing how to build a scalable, high-performance WooCommerce site with zero coding and full customization options.
Project Goals
Build a clean, modern online store with a luxury fashion aesthetic
Use Elementor for flexible drag-and-drop page design
Showcase collections like jewelry, bags, and clothing
Ensure a smooth mobile experience and fast load times
Set up a working checkout system with Stripe integration
Present the project as a real-world client solution
Tools & Stack
WordPress (v6.x)
Bailly Theme (ThemeForest)
Elementor Pro
WooCommerce
WP Rocket (Speed Optimization)
Rank Math SEO
Safe SVG
Stripe Payment Gateway
MailPoet (Newsletter)
Design & Theme Customization
After installing WordPress and the Bailly theme, I imported one of the default fashion store demos that featured a clean grid layout, sticky header, and bold typography. From there, I customized the following:
Replaced demo logo with a custom-designed brand identity
Modified the homepage hero slider to feature branded promotional content
Changed global fonts to Playfair Display and Open Sans for a high-end feel
Updated the color scheme to black, ivory, and soft gold
Added custom Elementor sections for testimonials, newsletter signup, and Instagram feed
The Theme Options panel made it easy to adjust these site-wide settings without editing code, allowing for fast iteration and visual consistency.
WooCommerce Store Setup
WooCommerce was configured for a typical small fashion business:
Currency: USD
Products: 18 sample items across 4 categories (Rings, Bags, Necklaces, Apparel)
Product attributes: Size, color, material
Variable products (e.g., t-shirts with multiple sizes and colors)
Stripe payment gateway and test transactions enabled
Shipping rules set for US and international flat rate
Custom “Thank You” page after checkout
Product pages included:
Image gallery with zoom
Tabbed sections for description, shipping, and reviews
Related products carousel
Wishlist and “quick view” functionality
Mobile Optimization
Special attention was given to mobile layout and responsiveness:
Navigation adapted to hamburger menu
Product filters hidden in collapsible panels
Tap-friendly buttons and checkout form fields
Elementor responsive controls used to tweak typography and spacing across devices
Performance & SEO
Image optimization using WebP format
Minified CSS/JS and enabled caching with WP Rocket
Lazy load enabled for images
Installed and configured Rank Math SEO:
Custom titles and meta descriptions for all product pages
Product schema markup for Google Rich Results
XML sitemap generated and submitted via Google Search Console
Results (Simulated Metrics)
PageSpeed Insights Score:
Desktop: 94
Mobile: 89
Average load time: 1.8 seconds
Simulated bounce rate: Below 30%
Mobile traffic share: Over 70% of total visitors
Cart abandonment reduced by approximately 10% with email reminders
Why Bailly Was the Right Choice
Clean, flexible design demos that required minimal layout changes
Seamless integration with Elementor and WooCommerce
Advanced product filtering, Ajax cart, and built-in quick view
Optimized for speed and mobile usability
User-friendly Theme Options for font and color customization without code

Key Takeaways
This project demonstrated how a premium WooCommerce theme like Bailly can streamline development while still providing a professional, elegant result. Combined with Elementor and essential plugins, the store was built with performance, usability, and scalability in mind—perfect for small to mid-sized fashion brands looking to sell online.
